Empire Strikes Back: Lost Scene

It is no secret that Lucas has been retroactively "updating" the first Star Wars trilogy to make it mesh better with the three "prequels" recently released in theatres. What many do not know, however, is that Lucas's rewrite of The Empire Strikes Back, Episode V of the "Star Wars" series, also featured more "contemporary" scenes to make the movie more accessible for the children of today. What follows is a scene that Lucas wrote for inclusion in The Empire Strikes Back, but somehow got left on the cutting room floor.

We present this work as proof of Lucas' brilliance as both a filmmaker and a man with an ear for the modern tongue, a real "street poet," as it were. We hope our bringing it to light applies pressure on Lucasfilm to work it into their next cut of the film.
